Shaykh Jawwad Khalid

He completed his Bsc in Mathematics with Computer Science in the year 2000. During the course of his degree he attended concurrent deen intensives in the years 1997, 1998 and 1999 under the tutelage of such luminaries as Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Imam Zaid Shakir, Shaykh Adallah Qadi and Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller, may Allah preserve them all.

Consequently, he decided to assume his studies on a more full-time basis, and in 2000 he went to Syria and enrolled in the University of Damascus' Arabic Language program. This was the first of a series of journeys in the pursuit of the sacred knowledge that saw him return to Syria on multiple occasions and also to Mauritania.

During the course of his studies, he trained in a number of Islamic disciplines including texts in Theology, Jurispudence, Tassawuf, Logic, Grammar and the Hadith Sciences. He had the pleasure of studying these with a number of noted teachers including Shaykh Ridhwan Saleem, Shaykh Ahmad Fal, Shaykh Muhammad Ameen, Shaykh Muhammad al-Ya'qoubi, Shaykh Mur'ee al-Rasheed and others.

He currently resides with his wife and child in London UK, and is working on a curriculum integrating Islamic and Western models of education for the West London School of Islamic Studies.
